Gaylord Perry dominated the hometown Liberty at Penmar Park as the Jazz Kings rolled to an easy 8-1 victory over their Philadelphia hosts. Tom Scales doubled, tripled and bombed a 3 run dinger to ignite the New Orleans squad. Boston hosted a much more subdued affairs as the home town Pilgrims managed a 2-1 win over visiting a visiting Washington squad. Boston starter Stan Coveleski had to leave the game in the 5th innings, and Sam Streeter was able to preserve the game and earn the win. The winning run was scored when Joe Cronin scored on a steal attempt of third was misplayed by backup Senators' catcher Cap Anson who threw wildly down the third base line. No such drama in New York as the Grays bombed the Knights, 11-1. Bill Byrd who has been on and off for Pittsburgh was definitely on today, and the home town team couldn't get anything going at the plate.
