Federal League Games April 17th

The Philadelphia Liberty took advantage of four Jazz King errors to take a two game lead over New Orleans, Washington, New York and Boston in the standings.  Andy Cooper threw a solid complete game, and got plenty of help from Eddie Mathews who contributed a home run, a double and two singles.  The New York Knights managed a one run win over the visiting Grays after Billy Willians smashed a two run home run to deep right center field.  Tim Keefe went the distance for his second win for the Gothams.  Finally, Harmon Killebrew's bottom of the ninth, two-out three run homer sent the Senators and Pilgrim into a 15 inning game, which the Pilgrims managed to win with back to back doubles from Hank Greenberg and "Shoeless Joe" Jackson.
