Continental League Games April 16th

The Model Ts returned to their winning ways with a 3 -1 win at home over the River Captains. Don Drysdale turned in a sharp performance. The victory came at a cost, however, as Detroit third sacker suffered an injury and will be out for a couple weeks. This will test the Detroiters to see if they can keep winning without one of their starters.  The Cattle Barons remain cold as the White Bears dominated them 5-2.  "Old Hoss" Radbourne kept Kansas City in check while Joey D and the Bears were able to push 5 baserunners across.  Chicago has relied on some lesser known players such as Bonnie Serrell to improve their record to 5-6 after a slow start.  Another team that got off to a slow start has remained there, but the Cincinnati Beergardners did  manage their second win.  Sandy Koufax earned the save.  He'll need to continue to pitch well if Cincinnati is to make anything of this season, however.
