Red Faber pitched a complete game shutout at Rickwood Field where the
Nashville Commodores beat the Kansas City Cattle Barons in 10 innings by the
score of 1 to 0.Nashville finished with 7 hits in the victory.
Faber(2-0) was credited with the shutout. Leon Day(0-1) was hit with the loss.
He gave up 1 run and 7 hits in 9 and 2/3 innings.

In a good matchup it was the Chicago White Bears 4, the Cincinnati
Beergardeners 2 at Redland Field.Chicago rapped out 10 hits for the
afternoon. Verdell Mathis(1-0) allowed 2 runs in 7 innings, and picked up
the victory. Mathis got help from Herb Pennock who was credited with his 1st
save. Ray Brown(0-1) was the losing pitcher. He surrendered 3 runs and 8
hits in 5 innings.

The Detroit Model Ts came roaring back in the top of the ninth to spoil the
anticipated celebration of the hometown fans. The final score,, was 9 to
8.Addie Joss was great in relief and recorded his 2nd save.
Dizzy Dean(1-0) got the win allowing 8 runs in 8 innings. Hilton Smith(0-1)
was the loser in relief. St. Louis' manager was not very talkative after his
team's tough loss. 'I'm not in the mood for questions, but I'm sure
Detroit's manager will be glad to talk about the game as long as you have
questions to ask.'

Continental League Games April 10th
The Detroit Model T's managed to remain the only unbeaten team in the Continental League with a dramatic five run 9th to nip the St. Louis River Captains, 9-8. Meanwhile, across the country in Kansas City, Red Faber and Leon Day were locked in a scoreless duel that did not end until Duke Snider hit his third home run of the year in the top of the 10th inning. Finally, the Beergardners managed a 5th straight loss, and remain the only winless team.
