Continental League Games April 21st

The Commodores stole one at South Side Park, defeating the White Bears 3-2.  Verdell Mathis and Phil Niekro locked horns in a pitchers' duel that saw neither team score after the third inning.  In St. Louis, the Beergardners continued to steadily improve as Spoony Palm hit a moonshot of a home run, helping Cincinnati to a 5-2 win and dealing St. Louis pitcher Warren Spahn his third loss of the season.  The Model Ts salvaged the final game of their series against the Cattle Barons as backup third sacker Alec Radcliffe took Juan Marichal deep twice.  Big Bill Foster had more than he needed, notching his fourth win of the season for Detroit.
