Detroit looked good against KC, but in a controversial move Dizzy Dean was left in perhaps too long, and the Barons took advantage with a 5 run 8th inning to win the ball game. Old Hoss Radbounr had 8 good innings in him, but not nine as the Nashville Commodores finally broke though in the 9th inning, winning 4-1 over the Chicago White Bears. Finally, the Beergardners' trade for Steve Carlton paid off with a strong outing against the River Captains, which Cincinnati won 3-1.
