The rejuvenated Boston Pilgrims brought their "A" game to town, scoring six runs off Liberty hurler Walter Johnson. The Liberty rallied back, however, and the game see-sawed until the 9th inning. Down 6 to 5, two outs and Oscar Johnson on first, "Bullet" Joe Rogan hit a blast to left for a walk-off home run giving Philadelphia the win. A similarly dramatic finish played out in Washington as Babe Ruth hit his second home run of the day with Cap Anson aboard to also give Washington a much needed 6-5 win over New Orleans. Finally, Eddie Plank disappointed the New York faithful with a masterful complete game, yielding only a single unearned run as the Pittsburgh Grays displayed their impressive offensive potential. Shortstop John Ward notched three hits and scored three runs. Plank fanned 10 Knights.
