There was a lot of bad baseball played in Detroit, and most of it, surprisingly, was played by the league leading Model Ts, who lost to the Chicago White Bears 15-6. Five Detroit pitchers yielded a total of 16 hits and 8 walks, and 3 errors led to 4 unearned runs. Chicago third baseman George Davis delivered 4 base hits and Ralph Kiner drove in 3 when Detroit wasn't hurting itself. The Cattle Barons were unable to capitalize on Detroit's misfortunes, however, due mostly to a three run homer by Willie McCovey and a strong performance by Bill Holland as the River Captains steamed past KC 5-2. Red Faber and Amos Russie dueled well into a fair Cincinnati night. It took extra innings for the home town Beergardners to notch a 3-1 win on a two run walk off by Roger Hornsby.
