The Detroit Model Ts edged the Chicago White Bears at Navin Field by the score
of 3 to 2.
In the 7th inning Detroit scored 2 runs with the help of 3 hits. They would be
enough to earn the win. Detroit had a total of 9 hits for the game.
The win was credited to Big Bill Foster(5-0) who went 7 innings allowing 2
runs. Jesse Haines recorded his 2nd save. Verdell Mathis(1-2) was charged
with the loss.

45,423 fans watched an exciting game at Rickwood Field. The St. Louis River
Captains topped the Kansas City Cattle Barons by the slimmest of margins, 3
to 2.
St. Louis had the game winning rally in the 8th inning with 2 runs utilizing 3
base hits. Rod Carew led off and started the rally when he stroked a
base-hit. Two outs later Ted Williams stepped in and he doubled. Willie
McCovey then slapped a one-base hit. The teams had been locked in a
scoreless duel until the 6th inning.
Rube Waddell(1-1) allowed no runs in 3 innings, and picked up the victory.
Leon Day(2-4) took the loss. He surrendered 3 runs and 9 hits in 8 innings.
St. Louis now has a record of 8-13. With this loss, Kansas City has a 5-5
record of late, 12-9 overall.
NASHVILLE AT CINCINNATI

Nip Winters pitched 9 strong innings as the Nashville Commodores outscored the
Cincinnati Beergardeners 2 to 0.
Nashville wasted no time and took the lead in the first inning scoring one
runner on 2 hits. That was all the offense they were to need. The pitchers
took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again.
Winters(2-2) was credited with the shutout. Ray Brown(2-2) was charged with
the loss. He allowed 2 runs and 8 hits in 8 innings.

Continental League Games April 26th
Bill Foster improved to 5-0 with a masterful 3-2 win over the White Bears. Yielding just 7 hits in 7 innings, he notched 7 strikeouts. Charlie Gehringer again led the Model Ts attack, and Dan Brouthers contributed a key pinch hit as Detroit scored twice in the 7th to achieve a come from behind win. St. Louis defeated Kansas City by a similar score. Down by 1, Ted Williams and Willie McCovey delivered key extra base knocks to drive in 2, providing St. Louis with a much needed win over the second place Cattle Barons. The Commodores' NipWinters turned in the pitching performance of the day with a 5 hit complete game win over Cincinnati. Winters only had 2 runs from the Cinci batsmen, but he didn't need any more in the 2-0 affair.
