Sandy Koufax was injured during today's win over Detroit, and will be heading to the 15 day disabled list.  Primarily a middle inning reliever, his absence will likely be manageable, however.

Detroit Model T started Jim Palmer's ankle was worse than feared, and he'll be on the 15 day DL.  He joins teammates Mike Schmidt, Webster MacDonald, and Bob Lemon.  While Schmidt is due back shortly, of more concern is the strain that having four pitchers on the DL will due to the remaining six pitchers who must carry the team for another week before MacDonald's return.


Detroit has lost more days to injury this year (77) than the rest of the Continental League combined (120).  It will be interesting to see what this team can do if and when it can stay healthy.  Meanwhile, the rest of the league has a chance to catch up for now.
